Sawing with an optical aid.

I have always been fascinated by these Yajiri.

I don't know if they were used in battle or maybe presentation or ritual pieces.

At any rate, I thought the form would make a nice pendant in silver.
But my old eyes couldn't do it without help.
That's when I bought my first dental assistant binoculars as discussed in an earlier post.
They weren't great but thay worked.
After searching for a better pair this what I ended up with.
They work much better for me. ... 110+3.5X-R

This is the result using the first pair.
I haven't used the new pair to any great extent, but they are way better.

I could not have done it without the optical aid.

The material is 18 gauge sterling sheet.
I made five of these and used 0/6 blade.
I was happy with my sawing because I used 3 blades for 5 pendants.
Wore out 2 and broke 1.

If anyone know about these objects and how they were used I would like to hear about it.

It is a very pleasing shape. And nice work, too.
