So my professional background began as a programmer for various companies, then I moved into UX (User Experience design) & industrial design which I now do for the only PayTV operator in the country.
My art has varied from painting to now knife making. I have always loved the dedication and time put into the work by the Japanese sword smiths (one day, one day I would love to take a few months and go and spend some time with a master learning). I'm still pretty new to the field (only completed 5 blades so far), but I have no desire to mass produce blades, I want to create once off works of art that have a functional beauty and because of my love fore detail I was draw to the art of iron brush.
Thankfully we have some amazing talent here in South Africa, huge thanks to Tiaan Burger for showing me this forum and the massive amount of information available here that is so freely shared is amazing.
I am busy in the process of creating tools for myself, busy with the hammers now and will get to making the chisels soon (hopefully this week).
