Translators are fine for basics, but they sometimes scramble the meaning.

As for modern languages and language help for the board, if it's needed, I can understand and read French, but my writing and speaking in the language is poor, which is why I replied to Christophe in English. I can usually understand Italian with the help of a dictionary. If needed, I can prevail upon my linguist husband for help with Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Spanish, Italian, Romansch, Roumanian and Arabic; his modern Hebrew is more fluent than mine. Other than that, we're reasonably conversant with classical Greek, Latin and Hebrew, which I doubt would be needed here.
