It might be of interest to some of you out there. This publication was originally free but I believe the rights got sold? Although those who had it in free format might think it is not worth the expense Howard Clark has confirmed it does have substantial improvements and more material that wasn't there before.

"Steel Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist" ASM International http://www.asminternational.org
ISBN-13:978-0-87170-858-8
ISBN-10:0-87170-858-2

http://www.amazon.com/Steel-Metallurgy- ... 0871708582

the older version is called
""Metallurgy of Steel for Bladesmiths & Others who Heat Treat and Forge Steel"

and a pdf download is available here
http://www.feine-klingen.de/PDFs/verhoeven.pdf

;)

( I always take "originally free" as a personal challenge )
