Hi from Buckinghamshire

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mark.

I'm a Sixty's child that has always liked metalwork from helping my Father rebuild a Lambretta to finishing my 5 year apprenticeship as a toolmaker. After many years working in a toolroom and other Engineering roles I have now moved to the Management side of Engineering but have to confess I do miss getting my hands dirty so I have many hobbies involving all things metal, Japanese swords, Sword fittings and building 3.5" and 5" gauge live steam loco's.

I have been a student of Shotokan Karate for over 25 years but took the hard decision to retire as it was taking longer and longer to recover from a good session.

Anyways, I was lucky enough to be at an event at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford where Ford gave a presentation and I'm well and truly hooked and will be starting my first Tsuba lesson very soon.

Thank you for letting me join this great community

All the best

Hi Mark,

Welcome. I'm envious of you're proximity to such quality art as is in the Ashmolean and the home haunts of Ford. :envy:
