Hello from mighty New Zealand

How are we guys?

Like many before me, I have spent a staggering amount of time lurking in the shadows of this forum, collecting information and techniques from those far far wiser. Decided it was time to step into the light and join you merry people and attempt at starting an art that is right up my alley.

My name is Zac, am 24 and love making/creating things as most of you do too. I study a karate and a koryu martial arts, which could be where the fascination of particularly tsuba came from. Ive been playing around with handmade leather tsuba for bokken for a while now and thought it might be a good time to get into creating something a bit more solid and versatile.
Attached are some pictures of what you could say is my 'work', thought not comfortable with that term. It is something that I get a lot of enjoyment out of though. Most are my own designs, some an adaption. Some of the tool marks you see are ironed out in the final working. Still working on technique!

I have been busy trying to source appropriate materials and tools for a while, have been making some chisels and hunting down some tsuba stock. Not as easy as I thought it would be in little old NZ! There may be a few post in the coming days of my progress so far, with many many questions no doubt.

I really look forward to chatting with some like minded folk and diving into this neat art.

Hey, Mr. Zac,

Message me and I'll try to sort you out. I'm in the Taranaki 'Cheese mines' so it's not too far away.
